Despite being a longtime resident, my last year+ away from the city has me a little clueless about what's new in this town.
I'm back briefly and when deciding where to go last night with a complete out-of-towner friend, I was at a loss. Given the beautiful weather, an outdoor patio was a must and I am a fan of my old hood, Wicker Park, but when trying to put the two together, all I could come up with were the horrible, new, out-of-place sportsbars along Division or, god forbid, Cans. Now that Pontiac has closed, who else has a pleasant outdoor patio area and isn't dominated by the Lincoln Park crowd?
(Personally, I always head to Violet Hour, Gallery Cabaret, or, recently, Bar DeVille, but none of these places have an outdoor seating area)
