Acura TL or RL... Anyone drive one of these?

I would love to own a German car, but they are expensive and so is the upkeep. Plus, I like "loaded" cars (nav, leather, wood trim, etc). I don't own one of these yet, but will buy in the next 3 years. So what I'm asking is, do any of you own Acuras, and what do you think of them?

Get the ELS sound system whatever you do. It is fabulous! A friend had an RL and I like it a lot.

Probably a great car to round third base in.

Have owned many Hondas and understand the Acuras to be similarly stable. But I can't get past the hideous front end and what looks otherwise rather pedestrian for the premium price they charge.

I have a 2006 RL since new.
What do you want to know?

It's my first Japanese car after a series of BMWs and an Audi.
For that matter I still have an E39 540 and an M Coupe.

I own one of these. Absolutely love it. 6 speed manual, high rev engine. Fun car to drive.

Boring cars for boring people. Or in the case of the new TL, a car that tries too hard, for people that try too hard.

Used to have a 1994 Legend LS and a 2000 RL and had a great time with both of them with barely any notable problem as far as I can remember.

Yeah, I do hate the "snow plow" design.

The new design is questionable - it's a guillotine. Great cars, just on the side of boring though.

My thoughts exactly. So pedestrian. The default car for people who have new money and don't know cars.

Alright this is what I'm getting from these posts basically: Its boring, not fun, but reliable. Well its probably what I can afford and I like the Nav, leather, and interior looks. And the upkeep is also affordable.

Are hondas similar to Acura? Is there a honda that is as good as an acura but cheaper?

I was looking at a 2006 model RL. It looks the same as the 2008 model but way more affordable.

plus, I would get a BMW mcoupe, but I was told that the upkeep for german cars was $$$

I'd much rather get an Infiniti or Lexus over an Acura. Just my personal preference.

Whatever you get, just make sure you can afford it. No need to go broke to impress the snobs....
