I have resigned myself to the fact that the Aubercy box will only be ticked if I feel like a trip to France. I am lucky in that there is a Corthay boutique in London and my conversations (both verbal and email) have been a pleasure thus far.

I have resisted the temptation to order "blind" online but from the conversations I have had with the London branch I expect their service to be second to none - this (in my experience) cannot be said for other English brands.

Which model are you looking at out of interest?

To be honest, I haven't any particular Modell in mind, but I would start with the classics first.

I've never ried those long sleek French modells on, so I'm not sure how it will look on me.

But the Pictures are gorgeous. so are the Reviews about the making Quality.

A ppity they are hard to find here in Germany, but Germans are not known for the extravagant. I'll try to find some on my next Hamburg trip.

For whatever it is worth my first higher end shoe was Corthay Fantomas (I did get an Arca later) but definitely if I was gonna get one I would get the Fantomas. No body does Ghillie style better imho

They are fantastic.

I would find it a difficult decision between Arca, Arca Stream or Fantomas.

Would you mind posting a photo of you wearing them? I understand Corthay use slightly thinner calfskin which I know some users attribute to excessive creasing however I would have thought thinner leather would minimize the appearance of any deep creases.

I always thought my Corthay creased the least but never thought it might due "thin leather", honestly I can't say I noticed the leather to be thinner
Here some pic :

Beautiful shoes - thank you for the photos.

The creasing is indeed minimal. So much more interesting than your conventional wholecut and a very bold move for your first venture - well played sir.

Dude hands down arca stream got to see it in real life it's some thing else. But they didn't have my size ☺️ Sadly other wise would be instant kop.

Both the stream and regular Arca are gorgeous. Love mine.

For me, it was the regular Arca, but the Arca boucle looks really good too. And the damned patinaed suede in grey was out of this world.

However, their prices are getting a bit too high for me. Current prices are not too far away from Meccarriello's Aurum line. Different aesthetics of course.

I just got a pair of the patina suede in "flint". They are awesome. Probably going to do the boucle next at some point this year.

Just wondering, were you the same gentleman I spoke to at the Paris Atelier in January this year?

And yes, pics of the flint suede please.
