In the one above, the shape of the waist and the flare of the skirt are spectacular. Patrick was a stocky man during his Avengers stint, but you wouldn't know it by looking at him. That's tailoring magic.

The other details are perfect. The trousers are slim, but not too slim. The lapels are narrow but not too narrow. It's entirely conservative, yet not at all fuddy duddy. It is, in short, the height of style. I might soften the shoulders a bit, but a wise tailor would probably tell me I was a fool for considering it.

He is short.

I know no one will believe this, but I don't wear long coats. I wear coats that are right for my height. At 33.5" they just cover my rear. I don't want a coat that does not do that.

I take lousy, self-shot, badly posed, horribly lit pictures of myself. The pose I suppose throws the perspective off. I don't feel like they look long when I look at them.

As for the flaps, I like them on some things, just lately I have been preferring patch.

So maybe that is not the "perfect" coat, but it is a perfect shape. Almost, the gorge could be a hair higher, and the lapel notches could be turns up a bit.

Fred's, though, doesn't even look like it covers his seat. I assume he's doing that on purpose, but still.

There were some A wore that did not quite cover his seat, but I think that was rare.

I've never liked the picture. This is what I picture Humpy Dumpy in bespoke.

The suit makes him look like he's got a humongous head and tiny twiggy legs. Too much tapering with the pants.

The suppressed waist looks very bad.
