I picked up suit thought the RL Sale and I usually use my own tailor. I was planning on giving the tailor at the Mansion a try but since the did not have my size the suit was shipped directly to me from another store.

My question is what are your experiences with tailoring at the Mansion. I need to have the sleeves altered and buttons put on, pants hemmed and the chest brought in a bit.

How is the pricing?

Keep in mind I have a tailor I am very happy with (quality wise) but he is slow and expensive.

Thanks in advance.

You've answered you own question already. Stick with the known and avoid the unknown and potential hassle.

Fair enough.

However, I am still curious if anyone has experience getting their clothes tailored there.

I would never leave a quality tailor. Find one, treat him well, and never leave.

I have used them a few times. A lot of it depends on what you are looking for in terms of fit. They have a few tailors and their skills also vary. My experience with them was just average at best. I used to have RL garments made in Chicago many years ago when RLPL was new and made in England so I am aware of their suits and tailoring abilities in more than 1 location.

Like I said there are couple of things involved here. 1. How well the garment fits you before alteration or how much of alteration you actually need. 2. Who is your tailor @ mansion because not everybody has same skills. 3. How well trained your eye is in terms of fit.

Their prices are not super expensive but certainly NOT cheap either. The only possible advantage I initially thought of was that these tailors work on RL products everyday and at least they know how they are constructed and what they can or can't do with it.

However, in my case the results were average because there were many flaws and I pointed them out, which they did tried to correct but the execution was not refined.

Unless you are getting something minor altered like sleeve length or pants hem, I would stick with your trusted tailor.

check this thread also for further info http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...ations+mansion

BTW the alteration prices in this thread above are no longer valid.

regards
