grow a rory, it'd takes no more than 8 months, easy. then you can look bad on purpose, which is a good look.

I have thick hair too. Usually I go to a barber, get size 5 on the sides and on top an inch and a half. After 3 weeks or so I really love the way my hair looks (so maybe I should get it cut a bit longer when I do go in). I find that leave-in conditioner does it the best in terms of styling as it leaves a shinier finish without being too overwhelming and isn't as flaky/stiff as gel which comes off as unnatural.
