Hey everyone, how are you guys doing? I know this might be a somewhat homo-ish thread, but I occasionally go to a museum or two to look at paintings. I have several favorites that I will buy reproductions of in the future. Here are two of them... would love to see what yours are as well

Pollice Verso. Its amazing, just look at the drama and the shadows. In fact, this painting inspired the movie Gladiator.

the Nymphs and the Satyr. Wow, the attention to details... lighting and color. Also not to mention the erotic theme.

without delving into anything recent, i'll say that what most consistently blows me away are the hand details on Bernini's sculpture of Hades and Persephone. I can't even imagine how much time he spent sanding down the indentations under the marble fingertips:

btw, gladiator was totally homo. is that what you meant?

Joey, do you like to look at paintings about gladiators?

Does it take a long time to sand the indentations?

Isn't there already a thread on this? And shouldn't the OP be off somewhere masturbating with a condom?

It used to be Automat by Edward Hopper: At the moment, I'm in love with Paris Street; Rainy Day by Gustave Caillebotte:

Those are nice! I like the understated colors. Why don't you get reproductions of them?

@liberated tuna.

Marble is insanely hard. Bernini spent weeks carving those details out to make the flesh look realistic.
