I appreciate the advice of many good posters on SF, but there sure are a TON people I would ban if I were a mod. So many threads with needless flaming.

im actually shooting a full video part for a local skate team/shop. i probably wont make any money off of it, but its definitely something ill enjoy looking back on in the future with my son. i was accepted for a pell grant in college, im pretty sure i dont even have to pay for books, so money wont really be as tight as you think, but whatever opinions are opinions

Even so, the first thing I thought of when I read that you have a kid (good on you for sticking around btw) was that you should spend as little as possible. I would suggest checking out the thrift discussion threads on the Men's Clothing section and also the "cheap outfits" or whatever thread here, and see about putting together a style as cheaply as possible, so you'll have less to struggle with financially in the future. I realize this is more life advice than style advice, but I guess my point is you don't have to spend a lot to look awesome if you have the knowledge and resources.

You don't know that of which you speak, Supreme are great in their own right and have their place in fashion, they may not be your style (not mine either) but thats no reason to discredit them, they're no worse than APC, BoO, J.Crew and any other mid level brands, quit trollin'.

You completely missed the point. Completely.

I understood the other point but going by Teger's track record I doubt that was what he meant. Besides, maturing doesn't always mean shying away from your roots and I think Supreme is generally much more conservative than almost any other skate brand, certainly strikes me as 'mature fashionable skater' when worn right.

If your around 18, and want to look better, at that age just buy some nice button ups Quick Silver, Dickies and any other Surf/Skate manufacture, and pair it with some decent jeans and wear Vans, of what ever type of shoe you want. Your a college freshmen, you'll at least look the part. I wouldn't spend to much on clothes right now, College is gonna cost allot of money, and your baby will need diapers, food and clothes which is also expensive.

If you don't wear a suit for work or have to dress up, don't spend the money on that until you graduate, and need clothes for an interview. Other wise keep dressing in the skate style, and don't blow all your money on shoes or jeans, it really doesn't matter all that much at this time in your life. You have other priorities for you money. Finishing your education and your child.

thanks for the input, but as i said before i qualified for a federal pell grant which is pretty much a full on scholarship. im pretty sure i wont even be paying for books.

i do agree with what youre saying though. atm you pretty much explained my style, levi 511s, solid tees under button-ups and vans.

i have at least 3 pairs of good quality denim, so i dont see myself buying any APCS or RRLS in the future haha. they are levis though, so theyre arent as highclass as you guys are used to seeing, but they fit good and they are starting to fade nice.

what im lacking are nice button-ups shirts and shoes, so could anyone please give me some help im pretty clueless. i keep finding pairs that i like, but then ill take a second look at them and they just dont seem right. i really like the look of boat shoes, but i cant find a pair to settle on.

Sup brah, I'm 18 and going to uni also, no kid but similiar situation. For you I'd say just get some sperrys and some polo shirts and nice khakis, Fit is more important than brand tbh, and if money is tight, then don't go and buy top of the line shit now, you don't need it.

fuck didn't notice age of thread
