alright i know theres a sticky for this, but i have many questions on style and whatnot. alright so im 18 years old, a skateboarder and i have a 1 year old son. ill be a freshman in college in the fall. i dress like your average 18 year old, but i dont feel like i really relate with people my age i guess. im trying to go for a more mature daddy-like look haha while of course still being stylish. as of now i wear 501s usually with solid color AA shirts and the occasional ralph lauren polo or button-up. i usually rock the shoes i skate in which atm are: im sick of being "normal" i guess and this is where you guys come in. please recommend me some nice button-ups, maybe a nice cardigan, some new denim and some shoes that are stylish, but not too old man-ish. here are some items im debating on purchasing, please give your inputs or opinions. top sider bahama lace tommy bahama grand harbors these are a pair i know im gonna cop, they stay true to my style and im really diggin them please feel free to post up some pics of denim, shirts, sweaters or anything else you think i might dig.

spend your money on pampers, son. 18 with a kid? Your life is over. Clothes should be the last of your worries. Good choice.

OP's user name is pretty funny when you consider he's got a kid.

sucks 2 be u, i like the shoes you skate in more than whats posted

Man, you guys give some great advice. If anything, the kid deserves at least some respect for actually caring about the fact that he has a kid while still being 18. Aside from that, he's trying to look a little more mature and, hell, he's even planning on going to college so he can do something with his life and take care of his kid. Sucks to be him? Yeah, maybe if you aren't up for working at life. Back to the original topic, I'd recommend you go with Topsider bahama laces, but maybe in a different color- navy?

i guess its kind of rough, but at least i didnt pussy out and im actually there for my son. i have him for 4+ days a week, his mother is still in highschool. i still manage a good paying job, finished highschool and im starting college in fall. i still have many good years watching my son grow up, my life is far from over. my whole life will always be about my son is it that wrong of me to spend a bit of my money on clothes that i actually enjoy and know i look good in? im sure theres plenty of members on here with kids, yea maybe im 10+ years younger than them, but you gotta start somewhere. i figured since im a father and im slowly maturing i should at least get into a more mature mindstate. which i feel means getting rid of my graphic tees and my nike sbs and getting some more classy and respectable clothing. i know im young, probably immature to you guys and my style is noobish for these forums, but you could at least help me so i dont end up looking like a douche

I like you. Buy some Sperry topsiders, brown or blue. Don't get the weird ass boat shoe hybrid.

just go to your local mall and find some nice, fitted buttonups. it will be easiest for you to try stuff on right now.

Look, if he just said "help me out", thats one thing. But HE is the one who unnecessarily mentioned the kid. That has no relevance to this story. And I recommend he get a trade job instead of college. Read the other threads" youll make more money and have better opportunities being a plumber.

This thread will go nowhere quick, I recommend the OP make a new thread and get to the point rather than giving us background/fodder

Wow, I did not expect this much shit talk about him being a young father. Anyways, my main recommendation to anybody looking to get mature in their footwear is a nice pair of boots. Red Wings GTs or Iron Rangers, LL Bean Engineer boots, and Clark's Desert Boots/BR Sahara Boots are all nice choices. If you're looking for something more sleek, RMW Craftsman will fit the bill.

he's talking about trying to mature his style, i don't think anybody should be giving him shit because he mentioned having a kid... just calm down. i know a couple young dads and they are both handling it very well raising very nice children, maybe this guy will too.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Of course, you might want to spend a little more time looking for stuff on sale or not go for the highest priced brands.

I beg to differ. He is trying to have a more mature look. There's no problem with mentioning why he is trying to look more mature.
