All prices include shipping to the continental US via USPS.

Measurements (in inches) are my best conscientious effort with a measuring tape. [chest=pit to pit & doubled; shoulder=seam to seam across back; sleeve=shoulder seam down to end of cuff; length=bottom collar down to jacket end; waist=measured flat & doubled; inseam=bottom of rise down to pant cuff end; cuff=measured flat & doubled]

Haspel seersucker (blue/white) suit NWT
42R 100% cotton
3 button jacket with side vents, SB with notch lapels, 1/4 lined
flat front pants, unlined, unfinished hem
chest 46 Shoulders +/- 19 3/8 Sleeve 25 1/2 Length 31
Waist 36 1/2 Inseam 37 1/2 Cuff 18 1/2

$90

Michael Kors (Hartz Factory) medium dark gray w/ white windowpane suit
42R 100% wool
6 on 2 DB peak lapel jacket with side vents, fully lined - NWT
[Note on pants - this is a complete suit but I did not see that the pants were a little damaged (small hole, upper middle back near the waistband) until months after I had purchased it. Had my tailor attempt a repair [it came out pretty well] but he hemmed the pants (without my permission or telling me!?! ) as well. So, jacket is completely NWT. Pants have small cosmetic flaw and cuffed hem]
Pleated pants, half lined, with belt loops
chest 46 1/2 Shoulders 19 Sleeve 26 1/4 Length 32
Waist 36 Inseam 30 3/4 (with 2+ extra) Cuff 19

$75

Hong Kong MTM suit [Made by Ash Samtani]

In very good condition. Asking price is a fraction of what I paid. Sizing is obviously not standard. Depending on your individual fit preference (i.e., somewhat roomy vs fitted), this is in the 42R-44R range

Bluish gray solid
Tropical weight wool [very lightweight with a nice drape]
2 button jacket with side vents, SB peak lapel, 1/2 lined, half canvassed, flap/besom pockets, working sleeve buttons, working lapel buttonhole (with thread behind lapel to secure boutonniere)
Pleated pants, fitted with side tabs (buttons) and suspender buttons, unlined, no belt loops, waistband has rubber shirt gripper material, hidden waistband coin/watch pocket
chest 46 1/2 Shoulders 19 5/8 Sleeve 24 1/4 Length 31
Waist 37 Inseam 31 5/8 (with 2+ extra) Cuff 18 3/4

$160

Mino Lombardi made in Italy (for Lubiam I believe) suit [previously altered & worn, good condition]
44R dark gray lightweight wool
6 on 2 DB peak lapel jacket with no vents, fully lined, flap/besom pockets
Pleated pants, half lined, fitted with suspender buttons, no belt loops
chest 46 Shoulders 19 3/4 Sleeve 24 1/4 Length 31 5/8
Waist 37 Inseam 31 1/2 (with 2+ extra) Cuff 19

It it just me, or does the Haspel suit seem pretty big for a 42?

I wish I was close enough to try on that MTM suit. I think that is just a little too big for me, but I really like it. Oh well.

Actually, it is a bit more fitted than their model from the previous year (I own(ed) both). But Haspel definitely has an "American" silhouette on its suits.

Nevertheless, if there is a measurement you find odd, I can re-measure. It is possible I got it wrong.

No worries, I was just curious.

The Hong Kong MTM suit [Made by Ash Samtani] really looks nice, but at the risk of sounding like a rube, I've never had a suit that didn't have belt loops. I'm not a suspender type guy, so I guess I'd use the side tabs - is that the gig?

What about the Mino Lombardi made in Italy (for Lubiam I believe) suit? Here, I guess you would have to have suspenders, since there are no side tab thingies. I take a 29" inseam, so could I use the excess fabric for belt loops? Is this something a tailor could and would do?

Can you also provide the 'rise' for both suits?

TIA, John

Yes, for the MTM suit you could use the side button tabs; there is tension provided by a length of elastic material inside the back waistband.

I believe a tailor could make you belt loops from excess material. I don't know what they would charge for that however, as I have never had it done.

I am a big fan of suspenders and find them much more comfortable for suit pants than a belt. You might find that you share that sentiment if you give it a try. Or maybe not.

I will get back to you with the rise specs later today. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Sorry for the delay. The rise for both suit's pants is about 12 1/2 inches
