Eating eggs every day?

Thread Starter
I eat 3-4 eggs in the morning 4-5 days per week. Yolk and all.

Someone on the news said to have no more then 4 yolks a week. What's the truth?

The truth is that the news is not a good source of nutrition advice.

Neither is most of what you read on SF. Someone will probably be along soon to advise using some whey protein.

I didn't say it was. The point is that if you want good advice, find someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

Actually all too true. Most docs don't know dick about nutrition. That's why God invented nutritionists. At my hospital he also decided they must all be blonde. They are also some of the few women that actually look good. What the hell happened to the days when nurses and flight attendants had to be hot?!

My post wasn't aimed at you. Was speaking in general based on a lot of the crap I see spouted on here (including "medical advice" and diagnoses).

My Nutrition teacher is a chubby ugly brunette. She's an RD/LD, too . You'd think they'd be at least in good shape, even if they were ugly.

Two of the Pulmonary fellows (they finished training in Internal Medicine and are now doing two years to specialize) are chain smokers and I had lunch with a Cardiology fellow recently who piled his plate up with fried chicken and french fries. Makes you wonder huh.

Likely, they would say: don't do as I do, do as Styleforum says.

Gotcha. Unfortunately, it seems to me that most nutritionists don't know crap about nutrition either. Their education might have consisted of outdated, discredited information. Hopefully the ones at your hospital know what they're doing. As far as I can tell, the best litmus test isn't qualifications or education, but opinions on the ADA/FDA. Anyway, my $.02 for the OP is to eat the eggs. They won't make you asplode. They might even be good for you.

As everyone now knows, eggs are high in cholesterol, mostly the yolk. What's less advertised is that we don't/can't absorb a lot of cholesterol though dietary means, so it's no big deal if a food is high in it, and you need some cholesterol in your diet anyway to aid digestion. Last I heard, 2 eggs a day was fine.
