In Praise of Trickers - Page 13

Wow, amazingly fast shipping from Tricker's ebay shop.
Ordered a pair (sadly not the double monks) early Wednesday morning pacific time, and the DHL guy was knocking on my door shortly after noon Thursday.

Is anyone able to verify this? At this point, seems like it to me based on the website's description => "On a channelled leather sole with a painted London waist".

Yup it's painted. Lovely shoes though. The last is sleek as has been mentioned. I'm a UK 8 in the C&J 348 and an 8 in these fit pretty much spot on.

If the ebay seller you're talking about is RETrickers1829, that's the Tricker's factory store.

Received 3 days ago but I opened the box yesterday, lovely shoes and outstanding service, fast shipment, rich box (shoe bags, plastic shoehorn).
The waist is slightly beveled and painted, much better than a CJ benchgrade, I'd say these are on par with CJ handgrades.
The last is quite similar to 348.

As a side note, did you look at the catalog included? Lots of lovely shoes but unfortunately most of them are MTO.

got my monk straps as well, as mentioned above, the sizing is nearly the same as the C&J 348, maybe a hair smaller though. very nice, and i would say better quality than the lowndes.

Looking forward to some excellent tricker's then! I find the belgraves of higher quality then my CJ benchgrade, mainly due to the better (or extended) leather lining inside. Hope to fit into them as I have no shoes on the 348 last! Haha. You can get MTOs from Richard at shoehealer for a reasonable price.

Would you recommend sizing up by 1/2 from the 348? Any other shoes you have to compare the sizing against?
