I'll give you my observations. Firstly, I've never taken steriods, prohormones, etc; however I know plenty who have used prohormones.. I'd say the majority of the people I know who have taken them do so in a cyclical fashion, and they get amazing results; that stick. I have seen a couple of guys get jaundice from taking prohormones while refusing to curb their alcohol intake. The ones who literally made themselves sick were young, naive in their belief that they were invincible; a common trait in combat arms Soldiers.

The rest, they are now mainly SF Soldiers.

I've shared my anecdotal tales, please share your anecdotal tales of woe and despair. Or someone could post testimonial, good or bad.

Thanks
I'm not going to sit here and swap anecdotes (even though I have plenty). I've studied the actual science at the graduate level, and that's enough for me to understand when someone is clueless. You compared protein to androgens, and to me that shows you have no idea wtf you're talking about. The fact that your friends are SF soldiers means nothing to me, I've worked with a number of those guys and they never struck me as intellectual superstars and they are obviously not risk averse. You think those guys are going to go around bragging when they develop side effects? No.

You've never worked with an SF Soldier if you are discouting their intelligence. They have the same intelligence requirements as Commissioned Officers and Warrant Officers; the main difference is you don't need a degree to go SF (enlisted). Secondly, I wasn't comparing androgens to protein, I was simply pointing out the logical fallacy of the "only natural" arguement. Out of curiousity what's your graduate degree in, or what are you currently a candidate to earn a graduate degree in? Kunk, thanks for the testimonial.

What's the educational requirements for an SF soldier? A 65 on the ASVAB and scoring a 0+ on Arabic at DLI? This qualifies someone as having perhaps good common sense, and represents zero science knowledge. If you want some anecdotes, in my previous career (remote land surveyor in Alaska) I worked with a few former Navy SEALs and RECON marines. They were chain smokers and borderline alcoholics. They were also very skinny and could hike endlessly in the woods. They were certainly not meatheads. I would have zero faith in their ability to know WTF they were doing if they did juice. I'm sure the SF guys these days are smart, but they don't have any formal education in physiology, except perhaps the medics.

If you must know, I'm actually attending a DDS program now. Since most are unfamiliar with what this entails, our didactic curriculum is nearly identical to the MDs. Therefore I've taken most the same courses in biochemistry, physiology, endocrinology, embryology, etc. I don't profess to be any sort of scientist, but I've learned enough here to understand that fucking with the endocrine system is asking for trouble. I also believe most people that juice are too stupid to understand WTF they are doing and PCT properly and all that, therefore you won't find me supporting it. Hell, I have the formal education, and I would not feel comfortable with it, that's my point.

Juice away though, I don't really care, just not for me. I'm able to gain all I desire naturally.

I think body-fuckery is for idiots, but I think steroids should be legal and regulated along with heroin, methamphetamine and doctor assisted suicide. I'm kind of a libertarian at heart, I suppose. And, no, I'm not comparing steroids to heroin- I'm just saying people should be able to do what they want, even if it kills them.

+1. I don't give a rat's ass about pro athletes taking steroids, but I do understand the point about how it puts dangerous pressure on non-juicing athletes to get on the juice as well.

I agree. This stuff isn't going away, and it would better to have everything legal and on the level. At least that way, a user can monitor things with their doctor.

That said, I think that young guys who get on this stuff for casual purposes are really foolish. If you're looking to play college football, become Mr. Universe, or (apparently) win a bicycle race, then by all means - you probably need them to compete on a high level. But if you just want to gain some muscle in the gym, just eat a TON of eggs and chicken, with the occasional protein shake thrown in. The gains will come fast, and you won't have to monkey with your body.
