Remington makes a good product.
Mine even came with an instructional video,
several attachments, lubricating oil, scissors, brush, plastic haircut wrap & carry case.
My Remington is now 17 years old and still going strong.

Currently I myself am using the longer attachments.
Having at least 1-2 inches hair length gives more styling options.

Aren't we all tired of this 'concentration camp prisoner' look yet?

I use a ConAir and it's pretty decent. I'd advise you to avoid buying one that comes with a lot of extras like lots of combs, a cape, etc. They sometimes throw all of that in as a way of making up for a less than great clipper.

I'm at the point where my hair looks like it is starting to thin. I've never been able to style my hair how I want as it grows a certain way, so I opt for a shorter cut. I feel the longer it gets the less neat it looks on me.

^^ these all suck

Andis would be the most recommended, Wahl aren't bad (what I have), but you can do better

Order from a barber/hair stylist mail order catalog or internet

I am guessing you have a light skin tone

With darker skin and dark hair, you like fine

+1.

I have been cutting my own hair for 20 years and Andis is what you need.

Just the thing to sheer my 3 yr-old (no more trips to the barber as depicted in my avatar).

I'm biased to Andis. When I started out as a barber years ago, I was told to get Andis Master.

As an example, I've been using the same Andis clippers for 15 years now at least once a week. Andis Masters are the best but expensive.
