Just saw it today and I gotta say uggh. Lame inside jokes, overly dramatic acting, annoying filming style (way to much lens flare), Bad science (hey lets go high orbit parachuting and land on a target the size of a baseball diamond or lets suck up a galaxy destroying supernova with a red matter black hole WTF?), and finally just a weak plot in general.

I will give points for the fact that it moved fast, and Uhara and the green chick were hot. Bootleg it or sneak it, but please dont pay for it.

Sounds like the original series to me. It is an action Sci-Fi flick, not Saving Private Checkov, the acting will be over the top and the actions scenes too. I don't mind it, it's escapism at its best.

I want to watch this but I could never bring myself to enjoy any of the Star Trek shows or movies in the past. We'll see.

do not have to go together. There's no reason a film can't have lots of good action and a good plot and acting. There are plenty of examples of action films that are just simply good films.

I'm not sure if that qualifies as an "action" picture...I guess it is. But I'm never sure how good it was. I think it was really different for the time and that made it (in a lot of people's minds) a good movie.

hollywood is dead, face it. next year there will be a remake of "the warriors". I guess I will never watch tv, video or cinema again ..
