I think that it is somewhat made up, bs holiday.
After all, in good chunks of non-western world, they already have a dedicated day for women (8 March). Why create another one?

It's a card and flower holiday, but still a good, enjoyable holiday. Not like that Valentine's day bullshit.

it's got to be more than that. more like take her out to dinner, give her a hundred bux to go shopping and then spend the whole day with her practically. i mean. she is your mom.

the best thing that you can give to your mom this very special day would be something you made like a mothers day poem perhaps, not just something you picked from a store, or you spending your time with her.

Another excuse for Hallmark to make even more profits, selling expensive pieces of folded cardboard. See also, Fathers Day, Valentines Day, Christmas,.....

Question for the married men - do you do anything for the wife on Mother's Day, or is it something the kid(s) handle? Does she expect anything from you?

I usually make something for her, and she does expect something. Just wondering how it is with others.
