I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Rugby line by RL. Im more of an athletic/weight lifter guy (slim fit shirts can be ripped, alot of regular fit pants get the old "meaty thighs" tag) and from the pictures this line seems to be more catered to my build. Some of there pieces are ridiculous (camo blazer with skulls on it?) but alot seem to be more up my alley with prep and undertones of attitude.

I cant just go try some on unfortunatly, as I live in Canada, but if anyone has any relevant experience with the fit/quality of it, Id love to hear some feedback.

Thanks!

Shirts are not cut for beefy guys.

A Rugby Med and an H&M Med are very similar in my experience.

If you want preppy stuff, you might do better getting a more trad full cut shirt from Brooks Brothers or Lands End and getting it tapered at the the waist. Only a full cut shirt will have the chest size and armhole size to accommodate a weightlifter.

stuff is painfully slim. i work out moderately and cannot fit into things without sizing up, and then the sleeves neck are too big

Damn. I was beginning to really like their stuff to, at least the stuff not overly loaded with logos. The collared cardigans especially. Im not wearing pure prep either, think prep with a touch of punk. An oxymoron and antithesis at times, but its who I am. I wear a tie with combat boots haha.

Maybe the pirate-camo blazer wouldn't be out of place then.

I normally wear a size 3 Lacoste Polo, or a 38" Fred Perry Polo and in Ruby I need a medium...so they stuff runs pretty small...I do not personally think that it is very good quality but I like a lot of their sweaters and they are always on sale which makes them cheap enough to be a pretty good deal.

I love the non-obnoxious Rugby stuff. It's cut very slim.

At least 80% of their pant offerings are cut ridiculously slim in the calves.

I have a similar issue w/ Rugby...I have 18.5 shoulders and 43 chest, 31 waist, the medium jackets fit a little snug, but the shirts...can't even fit it on. I purchased a Large, and had to have the waist taken in.

i like the rugby fit these past 2 years. very fitting for me

from 2004-2007, they used to be a little off in sizing, especially with the rugbys and oxfords, which were roomy (an M wouldve been close to a Large in the present fit)

basically, the fit can be close to perfect, it depends on the persons build

I'm pretty slim (around 5'11", 150 pounds) and smalls fit me very well. Rugby is definitely geared to a more teenage body type.
