Need a new hairstyle

Hey everybody, I'm in dire need of a new hairstyle. I have a long face, not sure what you would classify the shape as however, but I'm including a picture. I really love the messy-spikey look but I find it hard to pull off without looking idiotic. If I spike my hair too much I like ridiculous because of my long face. Whatever hairstyle you decide to get if you're going to keep that medium length on top shorten up the sides. It currently looks like a shapeless mop and looks fairly boyish. I'm not going to dress you up and tell you what to do. But I'm sure you're smart, you should be able to come up with something decent with some searching and thought.

Skip the spike. It looks idiotic because it is. Check out some old mod cuts- kinda a neat and trim bowlish-cut, similar to what you have but with more confidence to it.

Do you happen to have an example of what you mean? I've spent the last week looking for a new hairstyle and I dont even see the point because I cant picture it on my head.

Try some highlights and styling products. Go to a hairstylist and say " Make me look current and hip" and let her work her magic on you. Nothing drastic at first but change is always good.

just trim the sides to where it sticks out a little making your face look less long thats your main problem after that cut your top a little shorter and spiking or messy look shouldnt be a problem
