Floyd Mayweather - Page 2

the prince was one of those guys that had enough character to make himself matter . . . I definitely found him entertaining and at least looked forward to his fights, and while I was happy when he lost to Barrera, I didn't think he would just disappear . . . it was unfortunate for boxing in general, because he had character. I think the Prince was one of those guys with tremendous punching power that unfortunately led him to neglect other skills that might have made him a much better fighter. He also had an unorthodox defensive style that at times left him completely exposed and off-balance (kind of an unperfected Mayweather style, you might say), and in the Barrera fight it kind of made the fight look more lopsided than it probably was. I also remember his calf muscles were huge, but i don't know if that helps to generate more power.

His huge calves helped him run away from boxing... He did have a fight after Barerra, which he won, but then, in like Feb of 2002 he dropped off the map. He's probably changed his name or something and is working in a Wal-Mart somewhere by now. Poor bastard.

I remember he left England for good before the Barrera fight and had settled into this large arab community in some suburb of detroit . . . not sure how they treated him after the barrera fight. usually, the pinnacle of success is an HBO deal, I think he had one. I guess they gave him that last fight and sent him on his way. Usually one embarrassing loss isn't enough to drop a guy off the face of the earth . . . I have never seen a more embarrassing knockout than the one Kostya Tszuyu put on Zab Judah. I think Judah was so embarrassed he tried to choke the ref that night. Look at him now, I think he has unified the welterweight division. he has one of those cool belts with little oval photos of past champions wrapping around the waist.

What really did happen to the Prince? H was the most charsmatic fighter in the game in the late 90's.
