I agree, except that BBVD (and esp CPD) should be excluded from any "swing band conversations"

If not swing, what are they considered? I'm thinking in particular of the dance scene in Swingers.

for lack of better term "neo-swing"...I'm a bit of a swing nazi since I spent a shitload of years going jitterbugging 3-4 nites/week back in late 90s (like in Swingers, at the Derby) til about 2002

the real good swing bands were full orchestras like Mora's Modern Rhythmists, Bill Elliot Orchestra, Eddie Reed Band..rather than ex punkers forming "swing bands" like BBVD, Royal Crown Revue, etc

I guess being into BBVD is akin to saying True Religions are awesome jeans. Mora's Modern Rhythmists like being into Japanese denim, in SF nerd terminology

but I'll admit I like BBVD the best out of all the neo-swing bands...they are a fun band. And I like the occasional Diesel/G-star item too, so it all balances out
