This is another thing that I think Chicago does right. Vienna beef on a steamed poppy seed bun, dragged through the garden with tomato, chopped onion, Mustard, lime green relish, sport peppers, kosher dill, and celery salt. Yum!
Dang there's a lot going on there. I usually eat them with either ketchup/yellow mustard/relish or cream cheese/kraut/spicy mustard, but one time I told the cook to "go nuts" and he came up with something that was a lot like a muffaletta sandwich: butterflied Polish sausage with olive tapenade and melted swiss... pretty awesome. I wanted to enjoy the Chicago dog. The brightly colored mustard and relish were off-putting, but the celery salt and sport peppers compensated. That being said, this thing just has too much sh!t on it.
