Inexpensive but good date spots in SF.

I date a lot and dinner and drinks for these women get expensive, which means less shoes for me. I want some recommendations for good, nice yet inexpensive date spots in the City. No Taqueria's or grungy ass Vietnamese places, please. Like under 50 bucks or so for two.

Queue up your dates for the next Dine about town. Also, with festival season getting into gear, take advantage. For example, the beer and oyster fest is coming up.

Thanks, Binge. I am smelling a SF SF dinner Meet up!

I decided on Limon Rotisserie tonight and Weird Fish tomorrow.

i went to Fresca in west portal and it was cute and small but the food wasn't amazing so it was a little overpriced for what it was. (~$50 for 2)

We spent just a little more than that at Presidio Social Club recently. I think it is probably a very good spot for a date. Also, Hog Island Oyster Bar.

Someone please tell me why a lot of restaurants don't take reservations in SF?

I tried to go to Limon at 9:15 last night, two hour wait, Weird fish at 9:30, an hour wait.

Presidio Social Club looks amazing, thanks for the tip.

Shellshock, I heard good things about Fresca too.

FWIW: Panera - great neighborhood, terrible place. I live in Dogpatch, the Greenpoint of San Francisco.

Is that place a communal seating type restaurant? That's been a big trend in food lately. Communal seating, no reservations, and food just barely good enough to make it worth the piss poor experience.

Those don't take reservations? How odd. I thought most places did. If you had a res at either of those and they made you wait like that, I sure hope they tried to make it up with complimentary bottle of wine or something.

Also, as for other events, unCorked is next weekend.

Most Italian tapas, small plates, "hip & egalitarian food for the people" and/or places in the mission don't take reservations. Which is bullshit.

My friend suggested it's because of cancellations, I said I would be willing to prepay for my meal, if that was the case.

Serpentine, which is three blocks from my house, didn't do reservations when they opened, now they do and I go. After working all week, the last thing I want to do is wait an hour and half for dinner.

What's the east bay? Isn't that the place with the tiny airport?
