My father's friend had one of the originals, and I was always fond of them. A neighbour in law school had one that I would walk by every day.

Then yesterday I saw this:

I think I really like it.

wow

Can I fit two car seats in the back, a double stroller and all the baby stuff in the trunk?

Will get. That was always my dream car. I think I posted this once before. As a teenager, I saw one on the street and came running home to tell my dad about the coolest car I ever saw. He went to his desk and pulled out an old article he had clipped from some car magazine and saved, telling me it had always been his favorite, too. I had long given up on getting one as it seemed impossible to find one in good enough condition that I could own and drive without worrying about upkeep. This new version is like a dream come true. Even if it sucks, I would be happy just to own it for a year. Edit: I think I just realized that these are not production cars, but originals that have been hotrodded and modified. I guess I will have to wait.

My first car was a P1800S. Great styling by Pininfarina. This new version looks terrific, with elements ( at least the hood scoop) evocative of the BMW 507, another favorite of mine. Sold the Volvo to buy an Austin-Healey 3000 - still have it 26 years later.

Really sweet - I'd loose the wheels though.

Pretty cool but looks overdone to me. Here's the update I want to drive: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evoc...rceptor_s.html

I saw a P1800 for the first time in 1972 and thought it was the coolest car ever. I found and bought a 1968 model P1800 2 weeks later. Favorite car I have owned. Was my daily driver for 6 years, kept it for 16 years. Sold it to a guy in California who said he would restore but he never finished the job. Would have it back if I could. I think these modified pics are fantastic.

Speechless!

One of my all time favorite body styles. I love the "C" pillar treatment on this rendition.

Attractive, but why that stupid gasguzzling SUV engine? The 3L on recent C30's vould have been more than enough.

Can't stop looking at this; still amazed at the sleek lines of the greenhouse.
