Hello everybody, I got my first pair of AE's, and I was just wondering what dress shoes are supposed to fit like. I'm wearing them right now, and they feel less comfortable than my sneakers. Are dress shoes supposed to be less comfortable. I'm sure that the last is correct. I drove all the way to the AE store, instead of the local Nordstrom, to make sure they knew what they were doing. I spent probably 40 minutes trying on shoes to find the correct last, and the salesman seemed like he knew what he was doing. It turns out that the problem wasn't necessairly the width, but the insole? That was throwing off my shoes. And, so to compensate, I had been wearing 9.5, when I'm really a 9 in one foot, and 8.5 in the other. But, my right foot seems a little tight still, mainly in a small bumpy area near the top part of my right foot, near the big toe. I don't think the last took that into account. And, the little toes seem a little snug. But, I guess this has more to do with the stiffness of the leather. I couldn't afford ostrich leather. Anyone have any suggestions. I was thinking about trying a wider size instead. When they say wide, where is it wide in. I'm not wearing them outside yet. I'm just wearing them to try to break them in, to get used to them. I guess I'm used to shoes that don't really fit, that its a foreign feeling to have one that fits. But, I don't understand why its bad to choose a shoe that's not that snug, or a shoe that is wider than your last. Maybe I'm just being too picky because of the high expectations I had placed on these shoes. I thought they were going to be a perfect fit, but I guess I'll have to wait until I can afford bespoke shoes.
