Is there anything in fashion that cannot be pulled off no matter what?

What I love most about this board is seeing people from time to time successfully breaking/bending the rules of fashion.

This begs the question; is there any rule that cannot be broken? Or any look that cannot be pulled of?

Is it a 4 button suit? Non vented blazer? A tie wider than 4"? Two watches at the same time?

Black suits?

There's lots of runway stuff that could not otherwise be worn anywhere else.

4-button-esque suit:

Very wide necktie:

Two pocket-watches, which was a fashion back in the 17th and 18th centuries:

Paging SoCal...

I'd probably say there's some Haute-Couture that nobody can actually wear IRL, and more about certain 'push the envelope' items that aren't terrible inandofthemselves but the person just can't work them properly

Disagree on wide neckties....they look horrendous. Have yet to see a remotely acceptable looking example.

Short answer is NO

With the right attitude anything can be pulled off.
