Appetite Suppressing Methods (Foods, etc.)

I managed to lose 5 pounds on my way to losing 10 pounds, but I tend to get so hungry late at night (10pm or later). My urge to snack is undeniable. The rest of the day is manageable for some reason, only nighttime I get killed. Anyone got any good appetite suppressing tips for late at night? I've heard drinking lemon juice or brushing your teeth helps.

have a tablespoon of peanut butter but don't go overboard.

Celery - it is made of string and water so you can eat as much as you like without getting fat and anyway it tastes awful so you won't want very much. You could even put a little peanut butter on your celery.

Eat some more fiber. You can try adding glucomannan or psyllium (the stuff in Metamucil without the added flavoring; or just use Metamucil) to some water and drinking it before/after your last meal. Adds bulk and promotes a feeling of fullness. Or you can just eat more fiber in your meals. Whenever I eat a large bowl of oatmeal, I remain full for hours. Maybe just snack on something light when you're feeling hungry at night. As others have said, try having a little peanut butter or eat some cottage cheese or air-popped popcorn.

I don't know about you but I would stay away from popcorn or other small, light and numerous food when you're hungry. I always end up eating too much of that if I need a fix.

I eat approx 120 kcal worth of popcorn when I want a snack. Air popped with some salt and garlic powder. It's also possible to get flavorings like sour cream and onion, etc.

As long as you stay away from the stuff that's drowned in butter, it's not a bad snack.

Most people that need something like this make it a bad habit before a good one. Just don't eat or go exercise instead.

You could try to just go to bed if you start feeling hungry. The hunger will probably go away in your sleep.

Take 1 spoon of natural peanut butter, followed by 12 oz of water. It will fill up your stomach. 1/2 a cup of cottage cheese will work as well.
