Juicing-- Have you tried it?

I have friends who swear by it: healing, health, detox benefits. So, I bought a juicer Breville http://www.consumersearch.com/juicer...-elite-800jexl from Amazon. It's on it's way. Any juicers out there? Can you recommend some recipes?

Yeah, I tried juicing a long ass time ago. It was good, but you get sick of apples and carrots, the only two things you can add to your juice to make it taste halfway decent. Also, it gets pretty expensive.

I'll stick with my superfoods. But yeah, if you can tolerate the taste and afford all those veggies, it is good for you obviously.

I bought a juicer and used it frequently for about four months, but then grew tired of it. I have used it maybe five times in the past three years since. I didn't notice any added health benefits, but I have a pretty healthy diet without it. Buying that much fresh produce will get expensive, but that's to be expected. You will constantly think "Is one small glass of juice worth lugging this thing out of the cabinet, cleaning and peeling this much produce, and taking apart the juicer and cleaning it afterwards?" I decided the answer was no.

I did like a recipe for lemonade. I think it was six regular sized apples and half a lemon.

Yeah, it's good. I like beet-carrot-apple.

Thanks for your replies. Alexei- I'm hoping that I did not get this on impulse and will not be a fad for me. I'll start slow maybe apples and ginger juice.

juicing is great. . . extremely healthy as far as recipes go you can visit a local juice bar/ vegan restaurant and get ideas from them. .. or the best way is to just buy tons of fruit and vegetables that you like and mix them and create your own concoctions that you like.. .. ginger and peach is good....
