Watching a Star Trek movie with the IT department? And a Cisco presentation as pre-show? You, sir, are a brave soul! I'm ready to bet that there are going to be at least a handful of Holodeck jokes thrown during that.

Saw it, liked it, would recommend.

That's exactly how I would describe the movie, a solid sci-fi action flick.

But please, do not see it with too many trekkie fans. They clap, cheer, and laugh at every tiny reference so much that you don't hear the next ten seconds of dialogue.

I was actually going to write this as well but watching it a second time, I'm on the fence. Nothing to write home about but it definitely has its moments.

saw it last night, was great! I thought they did the comedy aspect one too many times (the water tube - scotty) but other than that fantastic, and I'm a huge star trek fan.

Not only will I see it Saturday, but I'm dressing up as a fucking Romulan and I intend to hoot, holler, and generally act a fool the entire time like those Star Wars people I always mocked and ridiculed!

it is definitely worth the 2 hours. i got the chance to see this last night. i am not too familiar with the back story of Star Trek, but it was very entertaining. All of the characters are played very well. I liked the Spock/Kirk storyline as well.

Whats with all the hate for Cloverfield all of a sudden?

This was really good. I like Lost a lot, haven't checked out Cloverfield (won't be) or Fringe (might be).

I don't know. I liked it for what it was, I just hear the same complaints get recycled over again ("Omg luvc story dum!!11/Shakey camera too muuuch!!11!!).

FWIW I thought they kind of went overboard on the lens flare at times in Star Trek.
