A little of both, plus the boxes keep them out of the light. In some cases I have multiples, so there's no point in un-boxing them all.

The bag: no, not MJ - that we keep in the freezer.

The scents I use frequently I have on full display.

None of them have especially fancy bottles, but I like the vanity of having an assortment of toiletry items in full view.
