Raffaele Caruso

Thread Starter
Hi All,

Has anyone seen Raffaele Caruso suit in NYC? I am not talking about suit made by Caruso for other brands (such as RLBL and some RLPL), but Caruso themselves. The only one I ran into was on 3rd Ave., between 40th and 50th (not sure exactly where). They halimited selection, and is on the pricy side, something like 2.5K. Upside is this guy can get things in smaller size once a while (i.e. 36/38).

Also, are there different line for Caruso, and what's the difference (construction/fit?)

dug up an existing thread on this brand-- now carried by neiman marcus. the suits looked good/ good trim fit, softer shoulder, FF trousers for $1500. unfortunately, they are only going to get what the buyer ordered-- so, my question is.......

where can one order Caruso sportcoats or suits in a specific cloth (i.e. tan cotton suit, or a brown herringbone sportcoat)?

a friend of mine just bought one of the NM "Caruso" suits.
For $1500.00 at retail I have to say it was an amazing value.

His was a dark solid charcoal, 2 button, side vents.

Tags are the same as all other RC, Sartoria Parma, etc.

Perhaps not as slim as RC SP suits.

Are there big quality differences between Caruso suits and suits made by Caruso for other brands?

Nope. Adriano and Sons and Sartoria Parma are the highest I have seen.
I think the MTM posted on here have shown an even higher level.

so......where can one order a caruso item in a certain cloth not currently in stock?

There's a short statement in this months Departures magazine that says Barneys and Saks will start selling Caruso and the MTM version of it called Uman.

IME, A&S is cut a bit fuller than mainline and definitely fuller than RLBL/BBBF. I didnt detect much of a quality difference either, but I'm straight amateur.

If you end up around Atlanta, I think Sid Masburn can do it for you.

damn-- i discovered this brand too late! now i'm in the DC area. Anyone else have a line on where to order caruso stuff? I might contact sid mashburn anyways-- or, maybe another question might be....how does the polo made brand compare (can i get with unfinished sleeves and double vents if i special order, maybe?)

I don't know whether that's what you're looking for but you can find many Caruso-made suits on the B&S forum.

As an update/ passing along some info on caruso for neiman marcus:

NM now carries the brand and an extensive range of MTM cloths. this sounds great, but caruso charges an upcharge for EVERYTHING you might want on a suit or sportcoat (i.e. unfinished sleeves, any pick stitching on the lapels, etc.) which add up quickly. seems like the best value on a caruso item from NM is to buy it off the rack for a straight $1495

all things considered, i ended up ordering a MTM zegna milano sportcoat for next Fall instead.

Was a Caruso MTM SC working out to be more expensive than a Zegna MTM Sc with the options you wanted ?

I exchanged a few emails with a guy that works at Sid Mashburn about Caruso recently. He told me to just mail them my best fitting coat and they would copy it for the Caruso MTM program. I'm tempted to do it. The Caruso stuff I've seen on here looks killer.

Link to the other Caruso thread.
Might be handy.
