isn't there a floor like this at CN tower in toronto?

Will an engineer or architect tell me...

How are they going to build on to the building? How does the glass hold that much weight?

Skytower needs the renovation. I went there last summer and you could tell it was a 20 year old attraction. Will go back for this....

Yep they have this at the CN Tower - you can stand above the Blue Jays stadium and look down. It's a looong drop. At least you could back in the mid 1990s.

They also have a glass floor at the Tokyo Tower.

I've been on that....not nearly as caca inducing as the sears tower one.

What's so scary? Yeah, it's high. So is a normal floor. This one happens to be transparent.

am terrified of heights in general.

good idea on those booties, sears should issue non-marking/non-slip booties to people.

The glass of the building in and of itself does not hold the weight, the building structure will. See thos stainless steel discs across the edge of the glass? Those bolt into the framework and hold it together.

As for the floor itself, i highly doubt it will be glass- probably wind up being some sort of polycarbonate or other composite. Otherwise, glass is actually impressively strong- it just doesn't take impact well.

and WTF is it with these planes??? They fucking fly through the air by using AIR??!?!?

I'm only being half facetious.....I'm honestly amazed every time I fly how those giant things do what they do. My healthy fear of heights is trumped only by my healthier fear of flying.
