They should also include in the article a tribute to your local service shop. They are nice vehicles, but total junk boxes. I'll take mine with a warranty, thanks.

That article was about the Series Land Rovers...not Discoverys and Range Rovers...The series Land Rovers are very reliable because they are so simple. I used to have one of the 90" models and mine never had any electrical problems...hell you could put bad gas in it and it would still run.

I'm on my second MKII Rover & have had minimal problems. They treat you well if you treat them well.
