Moving To Europe, need to furnish!

any suggestions (besides IKEA) on where to buy some furniture in Europe ( Switzerland)?
prices comprable to IKEA but not so...so....IKEA.

Depends on the region ... id do a local search. some objects might be worth getting stuff from Milan, Grenoble or Stuttgart on export. you might also find ikea.fr /ch to have different pricing and stuff than the USsite...

The thing is though that Switzerland isn't part of the EU so there's a lot of paperwork associated concerning VAT when you buy outside of Switzerland.

You might want to try BoConcept (www.boconcept.com). They have one store in Switzerland. Another good one is Muji, the nearest stores are, however, in Munich or in Milan. But, i think they have an online store as well... Edit: When shopping at IKEA in Europe, check the different local websites for prices. I once bought a desk at IKEA in the Netherlands for 140 EUR, which would have cost me 190 EUR in Germany. I you live close to a border or buy multiple things, it might pay off.

That is why I suggested it, 10-12 difference if my memory serves me right, export and import. That is if the tax is the only difference. But it is of course up to the individual if the difference is worth the hassle.
