The show went back to its roots, I liked it.

I think it was a great finale. I had a big smile on my face for the last 5 minutes of the episode.

They should have let E and Vince go their separate ways until the middle of next season when Vince could come crawling back, begging for E to work for him again.

I liked it a lot. I won't lie, I liked when they ran around L.A in Aston Martins and bought expensive toys they couldn't afford. But it was nice to see some character development, and I really like the role Ari played this season. I hope to see E grow next year, and maybe Turtle to start to branch off on his own. Although I think it would have been better without the reunion at the end. It would have left a better cliff hanger until next season wondering what would happen with E and Vince.

God, what a terrible finale. During the first season, the fantasy element made the series work even if Vince was the all-conquering hero. Now, having seen that for two or three seasons, the show needs some sort of depth, and after hinting at it all season, they totally threw it away. The best moments of the show always had a sort of melancholy, do-we-really-deserve-this feel, and it just seems so wrong for the season to end with another huge triumph. Oh well, it was nice to see shots of LAX and Sunset Blvd. You can take the boy out of LA, but not LA out of the boy, I guess.

I think the martin scorsese angle has got to be one of the fucking dumbest, worst developments they've ever come up with.

Scorsese made a career out of working with a major actor in different periods. First Harvey Keitel, then DeNiro etc, then he did a ton of stuff with Leo DiCaprio. Why in the fuck would he ever, ever, go near an actor as horrible as Vincent Chase? And not horrible in terms of how bad Adrien Grenier is in reality, but how bad he is within the world of that show. It was such a cop out.

Good stuff: - Character development all around - Nice change of setting - Probably one of the funniest episodes in terms of character exchanges and what not (i.e. "Yeah, sitting in a booth all night not getting pussy can be draining.") Bad stuff: - Got a little emo at times - No Dana Gordon Weird stuff: - Michael Phelps bumping into E..uhm..yeah Overall, good finale. I think they pretty much alternate 'happy' finales and 'sad' finales.

Maybe that's the point. These people aren't supposed to have depth. They just ride the roller coaster.

ok I thought that was him....thought I imagined it

good finale, it's assumed if you watch this show it's because you are rooting for The Entourage and want to see them do well, so the end was a nice save for Vince's career. Vince having his tantrum and throwing the phone was nice, very un-Vince like from anything in the past

What this show needs is a finish line, an ending that it's moving towards rather than floundering on Vince's highs/lows of his career

Drama was really getting on my nerves that episode. The phone sex scene was cringeworthy (until Turtle's mom got involved).

I thought E bumped into Eli Manning?

When Turtle's mom caught them on the phone was really hilarious.

The Scorsese angle is pretty weak. Yeah Vince showed a little more effort and growth in his Smoke Jumpers scenes but enough improvement to land a lead in a Scorsese film? Get out of town. I bet the next season starts off with the premier of the "Great Gatsby" film or somewhere close to that (I feel like they love skipping huge chunks of time between seasons).

I, and everyone I watched it with, thought it was Phelps as well.

Loved the finale but I'm in the camp of those who didn't really buy the Scorsese twist. Stranger things have happened in Hollywood though (e.g. Tarantino's well established habit of using has-beens)

The Phelps cameo seemed unnecessary

Mixed feelings about the finale.

I liked the E just went back to LA and got down to business with his other client. I like that E was a little bulldog and got in front of the director that led to the Martin recommendation. While using Scorsese might have been a bad choice, it was logical that E's doggedness eventually turned up a win. It is what E is supposed to be about.

I disliked the Drama bar thread. First, we know that fat guy is not to be trusted, from at least one prior thread. We all know Drama is going to end up broke due to this venture. However, it was amusing that the "home town boy made good" turned out to be Drama, not Vince.

The phone sex scene had me LOL'ing, when Turtle's mother got on the line.

I sort of liked the reconciliation at the end, between E and Vince. And then the other three guys barging in, was probably a very apropos ending.

Oh I forgot to mention the very funny sight gag: "International Movie Star Vincent Chase" and in a way smaller font: "TV Star Johnny Drama" Something along those lines. Funny stuff.
