How do you have that Garmin attached to your stem/bars? I could use a new way to attach given a short stem.

aragon got it - it's a black K-edge attached to my bar next to the stem.

Let me know if you want me to take pics of certain angles but it's pretty much mountable only one way.

kind of overpriced for a piece of plastic but they are super light.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I don't have a Garmin so this won't work for me. But I didn't know this sort of mount existed at all, so I'll keep my eyes out for them.

Get a hard case for whatever device you have, glue case to handlebar flashlight mount slidy-iny thing, attach to handlebars, profit.

Its a shame you don't have a garmin...because I know where you could get a barfly

What I like about the Barfly vs. the K-Edge is the plastic mounting for your device. The K-Edge is aluminum and the first few times you put on or take off your device, it nicks off some of the rubber stuff on the mounting of the device. After a while it's very miniscule but I just wonder about life-span of that rubber mount with constant taking on and off.

Went out today for my first ride on the mtn bike. Fucking awesome.

Not bad. Fact is though the S5 is just never going to be a weight weenie!

I've ridden at around 50* but not at any significant elevation changes... any tips?

I was ok with my long sleeve jersey and arm warmers underneath.
Bib shorts with knee warmers and an overshoe as well.
I'll definitely bring my windproof vest and maybe a baselayer too (sleeveless)

I have winter gloves (sorta thick) and fingerless ones... bring both?

Definitely bringing a knitted hat under my helmet.

yeah, I'm ok with that... riding between the R5 and S5 (both VWD's) I preferred the S5.... I just felt so much more faster with it! I didn't notice much difference with climbing either(I'm no pro so it's not a surprise there)
