PRPS Denim - Any Opinions?

I've spent some time searching through the SW&D forum for reviews on PRPS, but haven't come up with anything particulary useful.

I'm thinking about buying a pair that retails for $400. Given that I typically buy 7s and AGs (be nice), the PRPS are certainly much more than I ever thought I'd spend on jeans.

The fit is good, and the denim certainly feels superior to the 7s and AGs, but I'm curious to hear what the experts have to say on the brand.

Thanks - ET

I love mine. I've got 3 pairs and wear them more than my other denim. Not many of us on the forum have them actually, and every now and then this same kinda post comes up. But of the forum affiliates, Farinelli's has the most experience selling them, so send a PM to Mauro and ask him all about them.

i love prps for their denim and cuts.

however, unfortunately they do alot of the distressing that is very very bad. especially behind the knee, i wish they would leave that alone as it falls on a different part of my leg when i wear it.

the washes are very good though (for the washed ones) the industrial looking washes and cobalt looking ones are very cool. but again, the distressing keeps me away.

Look for a member here named ECK, that guy is the guru of everything PRPS.

I have a pair of the Impala's. I like them, definitely their most relaxed cut. The pair I have is not their most distressed pair, some of their styles are a bit too funky for me, but all in all they use very high quality denim and the buttons on the fly are pretty cool too.

I would recommend them, but I'm sure you can find the pair you want for less than $400. I got my pair on Ebay for $165 and they retailed for $385. Also check out Farinelli's, Mauro can hook you up.

At the moment my current favorite pair of denim that I own are my PRPS Tight Fit Raws. Personally I don't really like the washed distressed denim that they make, which also tends to be more expensive than the raw versions. I absolutely love my tight fit raws, the cut is great, the quality of the actual raw denim is fantastic and there are lots of nice unusual details that really stand out. I definitely wouldn't pay $400 for some washed out pair though, but if its worth it to you go ahead, I think the raws are much better though. Farrinellis stocks PRPS you might be able to get some through there.

I really like my Rambler (Tight Fit) raw jeans. Been wearing them since November, they're fading beautifully.

I have the newly released Baracuda's in Raw (sized down 2), they fit great for a casual jean and are very comfortable even in unwashed raw. It is my personal opinion that they are slightly anti-fit when compared to APC's NS and are a lot more ostentatious. The big ass label behind plus the front snaps means no tucking in shirts with them. If you want a casual jean then this is perfect don't expect it to be a 'dress/smart' jean.

Just FYI 'Purpose' jeans are an offshoot brand of Americana Hip Hop brand Akademiks if it matters to you.

What up?, Spencer!

I'm around, just don't post too much. I grabbed some BP sunglasses at the Gilt sale. Thanks for bringing BP to my attention!! That is some quality stuff.

the rinse ones really don't fade at all, I really don't know why they put that warning label on there either. What is the style # on your jeans?

PRPS01AA?
P29P01AA?

As recommended, Farinelli's is a good place to go through. Bluefly has them occasionally, and Gilt had them recently. Hope Gilt has them again soon.

I bought a pair of black PRPS from the Gilt sale and they were incredible. Amazing wash and cut with a really cool texture. But there was this big black distress patchy looking thing right on the thigh that I didn't notice in the photos. Ugh. I wish they would make regular jeans without all of that nonsense.
