I just bought a few pounds of yummy looking pork chops. With the whole swine flu scare going on, should I be worried about putting them to their natural use? I mean eating it.

no.

It isn't transmitted through food.

I think cooking the meat would kill any inluenza virus present (if there was any).

the flu does not come from eating pork

Medium rare or GTFO.

nothing like an overblown news story to scare people away from some nice baby back ribs
post #8 of 20
a bigger tragedy would be overcooking them

No way! Eat those chops! the only bad thing that can come from a pork chop is a bad taste and that's only if you're a bad cook You can't catch swine flu from eating pork chops.

eat them. temperatures of > 70 C are supposed to kill the virus, if its even there.. not getting between me and my pork.

Lol the tag for this post is immense! you will be fine eating them, overcooking would be a crime

Undercooking them is worse for you.
