nothing debasses the quality of a movie like horrific dialogue, cheep clichees, and cheesy lines.
Spell check. This is precisely the reason I liked this movie so much, it was the percieved lack of these things that were enjoyable to me. Your standards for action/adventure movies must be preposterously high. Cheap Cliche's? Like what? Cheesy lines? there were much less of that than most other movies of its type that have come out in the past oh... like six plus years. It sort of makes we wonder whether you really have an opinion, or you just like being contrary. Reading your other posts as of late, signs point to the latter. Just discovered the joy of flaming have we?
I'm sorry but the cheese dripped from that script almost as much as anything else of that genre. My standards for action/adventure aren't high at all, it's just the type of action/adventure that I like. I like war movies, where the action has at least some foundation in reality, as opposed to some creep in kevlar who lowers his voice an octave and takes on some sort of sick macho persona whenever he feels his life is getting boring... This stuff is entertaining for kids, but I don't see how intelligent people could love BS like this. It's funny, many of the same people on this website who extoll Batman Begins completely tore apart The DaVinci Code. That's a double standard. I just don't buy into this geekery.
