Rogans on Bluefly?

I think these look nice: http://www.bluefly.com/pages....duct+ID The others I'm not so keen on. I don't like the 80s stonewash or the sandblasted look. As for Rogan in general, they're certainly some nice jeans, however not very durable. Fine if you only wear them once or twice a week, not so good if you wear your jeans really rough.

It is odd, but it's Rogan's signature detail. The full-cut slash-pocket super-treated jean that's been reproduced by other companies (particularly Blue Blood, which I absolutely love now) can be credited pretty much entirely to Rogan.

Just curious, but which came first: Paper Denim's Icon jeans or the main Rogan model? I was under the impression that the former was the start of slash-pocket jeans.

I am nearly certain that the ICN appeared first. It was one of the first Paper Denim cuts, and I don't remember if Rogan even existed at that point.

What other quality jeans makers do slash pockets? I've never been fond of the five pocket cut, so it's always a relief to see jeans with normal pockets. I haven't seen many appealing Rogan washes, and I already have 3 ICN's, so I'm curious what else might be out there.

Blueblood does, but that's the only other one that comes to mind. I'm quite certain I've seen other companies with slash pocket jeans but I can't remember any of htem off the top of my head.

Rag and Bone does a "Trouser' jean that has slanted pockets and a slim cut. Pricier than even Blueblood though. Yanuk and Seven both have cheaper (both in price and quality) versions. The Seven version is on sale at Scoop.com.

Why's that? My stuff always falls out of slash pockets, and they always seem to billow out making you look wider than you really are. Plus it's more awkward to walk/stand w/your hands in your pockets. Just curious.

I just like having more room in the pockets and having the pocket opening more accessible (which also can translate to stuff falling out, but still). I always walk around with a lot of stuff in my pockets, and it's a pain in the ass to have to slide my hand in front of my waist and dig in a narrow opening to get anything out. With slash packets, I can just jam my hands in there in one motion and retrieve whatever I need. I'm a little fidgety and prone to putting my hands in my pockets when bored, and it feels strange doing that in front pockets. Lastly, I notice that items in slash pockets tend to rest lower when put in, while items in front pockets tend to sit higher and rub up against the hips, which feels awkward when sitting down (this just may be). I don't have any major aesthetic reasons for preferring slash pockets, but I find them a lot more convenient to use.
