I got my ST-120X Shadow selvedge denim in the mail today and I think these are probably the best jeans I've owned (previous was all N&F, APCs and Levis Made and Craft). Well worth the money. Now I just gotta start breaking in these bad boys.

In regards to the chain stitching, I got mine done with Self-Edge and I compared it with the original hem and found it to be very similar. Most people will not see the difference unless you are going to put the two side by side and really scrutinize it. So to me, unless someone on the street gonna walk by and grab me by the pant leg and stare, it's not an issue to me. It's a helluva lot better than going to a regular tailor and have them fuck up the selvedge edge while trying to hem/taper.

Yes , I am the only person who prefers the .5 usual stich, this extends to users from other shops like Iron heart, BIG, BO etc. that use the .5

Also, the custom chain stich fom SE is way better in general and much better done, and looks much better, than the original chain stich from every japanese and other brands like 3 sixteen etc. specially at .375

Now this conversation can be over,

I am sorry, I don´t understand, are you talking abut the chainstich wide diffrence?, of the making of raw jeans in different lenghts? they are two different topics.

Sorry to derail the chain stitching discussion, but I have a sizing question. I have a pair of SL-100's in size 34 that I love (though I have lost weight and could probably go with a 33). I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on sizing the SL-130's, initial fit, how much they stretch, etc. Thanks!

I have the SL130s in a 34 and I’ve found them to stretch approx ¾ to a full inch since I got them 3 months ago. They have opened up nicely and I’m super happy with how they look and feel. The 17oz denim is superb. They started out approx 34.75 waist and now they are approx 35.5

My true measured waist is around a 35 if that helps at all with your sizing.

All in all, awesome denim.

Thanks, that helps a bunch! I think I'm going to give the 33 a try!

Thanks for the help! I got the 33's and they fit great! The denim is awesome!

I picked up a pair of 30BSPs to fill the fit gap between my SLs and CSs. They fit perfect and are without a doubt my new go-to pair. Thanks to the Self Edge crew for answering my questions and a quick turnaround on the order.

Just received a shipment of some new tops from 3sx, as well as a restock on denim.

Also picked up a pair of the Khaki Chinos for myself and a coworker snagged the heavies. these special projects are worth grabbing - SO above and beyond.

note the twill on these being kind of wavy - makes for a killer texture.

we don't have these in stock yet but I'm thinking I might order a run.. I can't take them off

no idea those Chinos existed! I'm in for a pair and just down in Boston if you grab a run of them let me know

Sizing question - I tried on a few pairs today but they didn't have all the sizes and styles for me to be sure.

I tried on the following:

SL-100x: size 31 fit well in the waist but not as tight as I'd expect a new pair to fit and it was pretty roomy in the calves
ST-100x: size 30 was really tight in calves and couldn't button up the waist
ST-200x: size 31 fit fairly well in thighs/calves but again wasn't as tight as I'd expect a new pair to be, especially in the waist.

I'm thinking I need a 30 in the sl-100 or to go with 31 in st-100 but was looking for feedback.

I wear a 29 in n&f slim guy currently and a 28 in gap 1969.

with 3sixteens, from my experience they don't tend to stretch as much as other brands so if they definitely shouldn't be tight when you put them on initially because it won't stretch out like gap jeans. I'd say if the waist fits a little snug but not uncomfortable then you're good to go. depending on the kind of fit you're looking for, i'd even say go with the size that fits just right and it should be fine.

Thanks - the ST-200 in a 31 fitted about how I'd expect a pair to fit after they had stretched out. I'm tempted to try a 30 in the SL but based on the 30 in the ST the waist might be too small.

I find the ST waist to be slightly smaller than the SL in the same size. 3Sixteen offers returns so why not order both and see which fits best?
