When we designed the fabric we thought the black would stay pretty deep. In general, black jeans are much harder to fade than indigo too. Now that the 220x jeans have been around for 1.5-2 years, we're starting to see some worn in jeans come back for repairs. In some cases, the black has retained its color well but when worn pretty hard they actually do fade to a grey. Here's one extreme example, it belongs to a drummer who tours often and wears the jeans every day. I would see this is the most that the jeans can be expected to fade:

Those look pretty cool AJ thanks. Anymore picks you have laying around?

How much shrink should I account for after a first wash? I want to get mine hemmed but make sure I don't go too short. 1"?

leaving a extra 1" more than your final desired length is usually safe.

Hello , a couple of months ago I ordered a pair of SL 100 from SE in size 31. The jeans were bigger than the specs in SE, 3sixteen, Blue Owl and any other site, like almost 2 inches in the waist and some other differences. Kiya accepted a return for credit and did not charge shipping one way, even when the jeans were hemmed at SE.

But now I am a bit reluctant to order the same jeans and size again, in theory and by looking at the specs I am size 31, but since I live abroad its a bit unpleasant having to send back in case the size is wrong again. Has anyone experiences this diffrence in the specs in 3sixteen? probaly it was a faulty single SL 100, but who knows

I cannot speak for SE but Blue Owl measures every single pair so I would be pretty surprised to see that kind of variance.

Have what store your ordering from measure every pair in the waist size you want. Then choose which one you want by the measurements. Giving that much more extra effort should be worth it to them.

Im pretty sure blue owl would measure every pair in the waist size you want give them a call.

No i do not work for blue owl.

That one pair you got was a mistagged or miscut jean, hence why we took it back even though it was hemmed. Once you're ready to buy just email us know what size you're looking at and we'll remeasure that size for you.

Hello, should I get the 3sixteen SL 130s in the same size than SL 100s? the 130´s seems to be a little bigger by the specs. Is this because of the heavier denim? how much are the 130´s going to strecth?

The prices are close, maybe is worthit to get the 130, what would be the difference in getting the 130 over the 100? I am not familiar with heavy denim, more contrast? warmer?
Thanks a lot for your help

cheers

The 17oz denim is superb! I am loving mine and have no regrets. The extra $ over the standard SL 100s is definitely worth it. I sized the same as the SL 100s.

I have worn mine around 10-12 times and I'd say they stretched out about an inch in the waist. Don't forget, they will only stretch where there is pressure on them (in my experience).

The heavier denim has a deeper indigo color and more character in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love my SL 100s but these 17oz beauties are just DOPE. It's been a warm fall here in the NY region and I've been wearing them in 80 degree weather without being totally overheated.

Thanks for the info, would you say the size is exactly the same?
