Trying to figure out how much stretch to expect. I sized down 1, as I usually do and have done with other 3sixteens. I can button all the buttons, but it's definitely tight through the top block - fit everywhere else is perfect. Wondering if this will stretch out through the top block.

theyre definitely raw but being left hand twill, they'll look and feel a little different than the more common right hand twill denim. Stretch wise it should be the same deal where it'll stretch in the waist with some wear. Left hand twill denim should also break in softer with wear.

I recently bought a pair of (I think) ST double black from bergdorf goodman. It only had the price tag so I am a bit unclear which they are. I assume so because it has the black leather tab. Don't really care because they fit and feel like a dream, way better than my APC PS.

Anyways, I am wondering if I need to give them a soak before I wear them or not.

I plan on picking up some SL-100x's.  Size 32 jeans fit perfectly from Banana.  Waist measured a couple inches below naval is 33.  Looks like I should go size 32 in 3sixteens?

i'd go with a 31 if your thighs will fit into it because the waist will stretch some.

Thanks crosswound!  I picked up some SL-100x in 31 and was able to button the top button without much trouble at all straight out of the bag.  The thighs are super tight though...can't grab any fabric.  Should the thighs stretch a bit?  I've seen conflicting reports on how much the thighs will stretch.

It will stretch about .5 what you have to wait to really know is the first wash when it softens up a lot.

But dont wash it too early. If you button it up the first time fine its probably the intended fit and maybe your not used to it.

Try sagging it a bit then when the thighs stretch youll be pulling the denim up higher trying to make them look slimmer smile.gif

Yeah, as long as the thighs stretch even the slightest bit they'll be perfect.  Great denim...really impressed with the quality.

3sixteen Heavy Weight 17oz Denim Jeans

We're excited to announce a new fabric from one of our best selling brands, 3sixteen's new 17oz denim. Over the last couple of years two of our best selling jeans at Self Edge have been the SL-100x and ST-100x from 3sixteen. They're both great cuts in a simple straight forward jean that ages beautifully made of a custom woven Japanese selvedge denim. 3sixteen have now taken those two silhouettes and produced them in a newly developed 17oz sanforized denim. Due to the heavier nature of the denim the jean feels a bit more rigid when new which will lead to even more definition in the fading over time with regular wear.

The new SL-130x and ST-130x are available now at all Self Edge stores, we don't think you can get a better jean at this price from any brand. Check the online store for full spec lists, measurements, and high-res photographs.

Is there a way to soften these jeans? I have a pair from 2011 and they are still stiff and a bit uncomfortable to wear.

Washing helps! It makes the fibers softer. (This way your jeans will also last longer.)

dang since 2011? how often do you wear them? a wash def will soften them up but also just wearing them a lot will soften them up.

Thanks for the support! Sounds like you are in the right size - if the thighs don't start out that tight then you won't experience too much stretch in them. Jeans stretch more where there's pressure. Our denim overall stretches less than others, so you'll be fine.

Those are the ST-220x, I don't believe Bergdorf picked up the Double Blacks in the SL cut. Glad you are liking the fit and the fabric! Sorry for the late reply on your question - our denim is sanforized so there's no need to presoak before wearing. You can start wearing them right away.

Does the 220x denim really not fade?  Just curious...

It's really tough to fade double blacks but I believe they've posted pictures of a pair of double blacks that got pretty worn and faded
