Just got my utility shirts in the mail.

I ordered the Yellow Seersucker and the Solid White. They fit true to size and slim. I wear a 44 FH and the Xl fits me a bit looser and more comfortably than the FH does. I am 6'3" 215 for reference.

Initial thoughts:

I like the seersucker fabric more than the solid white fabric, it's really nice. The solid white is okay, but nothing special. I was actually also expecting the solid white to be seersucker, but upon further review it doesn't say that it's seersucker on the site. A white seersucker shirt would be cool.

The fit is really nice on the shirts. They fit comfortably and look good.

The buttonholes are a problem though - they have a bunch of loose threads that get wrapped over the button and it's hard to unbutton. That's actually one of my shirt pet peeves, so i am not super psyched about spending 70 and getting a shirt that doesn't have finished buttonholes. It's worse on the white then it is on the yellow. Anyone know how to fix that? Should i trim off the extra loops of thread?

Overall, nice shirt for a good price. I prefer the seersucker and may send the white one back.

I don't think the 3sixteen shop allows returns, only exchanges.

Good observation. Almost all of the 3sixteen shirts I have bought with button holes have had this problem, whether I paid full price or a discounted price.

I didn't make much of it because the problem was solved by trimming the loose threads in the button hole. If I had one gripe about the 3sixteen shirts, that would be it; otherwise, I am a happy customer.

yep, i'll probably keep it and do that. the fit of the shirt is really nice, everything else is golden, so i'll probably trim the loose threads as well - thanks for the advice Peter!

The white utility shirt not being seersucker was one of the main reasons I jumped on it. The rolled up sleeves and slanted pockets were enough unique touches to the basic white button-down for me. Any more such details would've been a deal-breaker for me. Should get mine tomorrow, so I'll post up thoughts on it.

Speaking of 3Sixteen garments, I just noticed the top of the lining inside the front pockets on the duffel coat are starting to tear. I'll have to get them sewn up, otherwise the lining is going to wind up completely shredded. I'm a bit disappointed, since I've only been wearing the coat for two months. I use the handwarmers and don't jam a ton of stuff inside the front pockets, so it's not like I've been rough with them, either.

hey bro, I didn't think that they'd look right on me either but for the price, i'd say go for it. If you live near SF or NY you should go try a pair on.

There is another 3sixteen model in the works but it does not utilize 21oz denim.

*ST100 size 32 (true size 34)*
*6'0 175lbs*
*Worn for about 3 weeks*

Had the leg tapered from knee down because shin/ankle area was to baggy. When I received them the leg opening was 8" and now it is approx. 7.5".

Also, in a couple pictures I am wearing the yellow seersucker utility shirt in L and the white one, also in L. The fit is good, although the seersucker is much more comfortable. The sleeves are huge on both so rolling them up is pretty much a requirement. The white also wrinkles very easily and shrinks a lot in sleeve length and overall length of the shirt when washed (washed in cold and hang dried). Also the neck size on both is around a 17 or 17.5. Does anyone know the neck size on a M?

Good fit, though I think the original hem would've made it a more balanced one. How roomy is the top block? I'm trying to determine whether I want to go with the SL or ST. Measurements for both are nearly identical, except for the knee. Curious as to how fitted the top block on the ST model is.

The utility shirt looks great on you, by the way. Was that pre-wash or post?

Hey thanks,
The seersucker is pre wash and the white is post. The white shrunk significantly in sleeve length and total length of the shirt. Although, It did NOT shrink in areas I wanted it to (chest, sleeve width, midsection, neck), so that is something to consider. I must point out that while the white utility shirt shrunk more than I wanted, it still looks good and is definitly still wearable. I am going to wait to wash the seersucker utility shirt for as long as I can, dont want it shrinking like the other.

The top block on the ST's that I have is great, not too tight or loose. If you size down two I would imagine you would get a similar fit. I however am a noob at this whole raw denim thing so my opinion has no reference in that sense.

I've had the SL since October and to me they are pretty slim through the thighs then taper down to the bottom. I bought the 29 in the SL-100X and I can't imagine fitting into anything slimmer. I think if you compare the measurements in the thigh on the SL versus other straight leg or slim straight jeans, the SL are slimmer.
