Hanging trousers

What do you use for hanging trousers? Clips are nice but generally come on suit hangers only (fine for suits but not for odd trousers). I always fear that folding trousers on a bar increases the risk of creasing at the fold. Mathieu

You're right to fear that, in my experience. I always hang my trou vertically. Luckily the quality of the hanger doesn't matter much here (as opposed to coats/jackets) if you're not dedicated to a "closet look". So buy a lot of cheap ones for 1.99. I think someone just posted a link to Walgreens cheap hangers in another thread- I'm sure they have standalone odd trouser hangers too.

I think a rubberized trouser bar would be the best option so you don't have to subject your pants to clamps. I've yet to find any decent-looking wooden hangers like this though. My cleaners use wire hangers with a cardboard tube trouser bar that has some grippy but non-sticky material on it. Those work perfectly but are ugly and not suitable for anything other than disposable use.

Its not one of the choices above but I just use the cardboard barrel hangers that come from the dry cleaner. My pants get no respect.

I have use trouser/skirt hangers (with clips) from Carrefour (Suntec City). I think they are about S$1.00 each. And hang my trsouers by their cuffs - the creases are kept quite sharp even after a few wears.

None of the above -- I use the wire hanger covered with white cardboard that the cleaners uses to return slacks. They seem to work fine. For casual pants (jeans/weekend khakis), I have several wire/plastic multi-hanger things, with one hook to attach to the bar but 5 or 6 hangers to hold a pair of slacks.

I use Oxxford trouser hangers. To avoid/minimize the crease, I drape a large piece of tissue paper (like the kind department stores use to wrap your purchases in...) over the pants, then I close the hanger in the usual manner.
