Good question; I dunno. Maybe JLibourel or one of the others who are experts in latin can tell us?

My GUESS would be, maybe that that the vocative is direct address, so it refers to proper nouns and not a general pronoun?

Again, I have no idea... the only Latin I had was in school.

I'll probably get flayed alive for this, but I have to admit I own a number of Kenneth Cole clothing items which I rather like. They tend to fit me well.
