Anyone know what type or a similar style sunglasses that River Phoenix has in this photo?(from the movie My Own Private Idaho)

It like a modified aviator where the bottom isn't rounded. This is something I really like cause it has the aviator style without the round bottom which seems to make my face a bit too long.

Anyone have any recommendations of something similar?

It's a little like the mosley tribes enforcer? Maybe wider horizontally...

Ahh very good thank you! ...yeah...that basically is the exact style. Im not going to spend that much on sunglasses....plus i wish the metal frame was a little thicker. I was looking and found these American Optical Original Pilot which have the same style also for $50. Though I dont like the straight metal part around that lays on top of your ears as much(whatever the hell thats called on frames )*edit* I mean the temple..I like the Spatula style http://www.eyewearplanet.com/ao-orig...mm-matte.html#

If anyone comes up with any other brands that would be great

The defining feature of River Phoenix' sunglasses to me is that they appear to be completely flat, with no curvature around the head. I think the similar styles posted here soften the effect, and lose that severe/modernist edge.

Good point. I knew something was off...but you are right the curvature around the head is different.

So basically the only place to find that look now is cheap $5 sunglasses from walgreens since cheaper ones tend to be flat.
