Interestingly, Suitsupply has a few like that: http://us.suitsupply.com/en_US/bags

Oppermann London has one, too - http://www.oppermann-london.com/

Just off the top of my head. I have not seen them irl... I might think of more later.

Thank you. The Oppermann looks nice, although other suggestions are more than welcome

I've read through this thread and looked at some of the recommended brands, but can find nothing similar. I'd rather not have to pay over the top Mulberry prices. Brands or websites to check out would be much appreciated.

Do you actually need to carry a laptop in there? It doesn't look wide enough for the typical laptop bag padding.

Dunhill makes a few bags in that style, but the price is in the same range as Mulberry.

You could have a look at Bill Amberg, since you are based in London.

Want les Essentiels de la Vie has a slightly larger bag called the Trudeau.

Picard bags from Germany are very reasonably priced for the quality, and you should be able to find them near London: http://www.picard-lederwaren.de/

Thank you for the insight. Dunhill and Want les Essentiels are both out of my price range. I think if I was to spend that much, I would get the Mulberry. I don't actually need to carry a laptop day to day but might occasionally slip in my 13" MBA, which should be no big deal.

Currently weighing up between the Bill Amberg Triumph or the Oppermann Vallance, £299 and £199 respectively. I prefer the design of the former but the latter looks better constructed.

I have the linked bag from Barneys which seems to fit what you are looking for in terms of style and price. I am quite happy with it. They have it in navy and black.

What's your budget? East Dane has the Mismo Morris for 1/2 off right now. I know a lot of people on here consider the brand over priced at MSRP, but $482.5 isn't bad at all. The styling is nice and it has an optional shoulder strap.

what are folks thoughts on Mismo?  in terms of quality and styling?

The aviator could be a nice travel bag.

Picked this up this Billy Reid tote bag this evening at Hudson's Bay (Queen St). Perfect size for my daily trip to the market (ok...that generally means the Parkdale No Frills) Ha

Ultra-soft distressed sheepskin long tote bag that's made by hand in Tennessee.

Leather inner storage pouches
Lined in charcoal cotton duckcloth
Reinforcing copper rivets
Handmade in the U.S.A.

DIMENSIONS
17-inches tall
13-inches long
5-inches wide

I'm looking for a leather folio type bag that's thin and elegant but has a shoulder strap option as well.

Something I can take as a briefcase to a meeting but also to the coffee shop.

Any thoughts?

Roztayger is having extra discounts off of their sale items. Someone might be interested in this briefcase:

OP did a review on them last year. I don't have any personal experience with them as nothing they make ever comes in the specs I want, but everything does seem pretty good.

Not easy to find. I think Bill Amberg had something similar earlier in the season. Might have been for the iPad though.

A cheaper and unlikely option could be the music bag by Cambridge Satchel.

I think they are nicely built but a bit overpriced.
