Haven't added any in a while; found a couple while perusing teh interwebz that I thought looked interesting. Haven't seen these brands in person, so can't comment on quality, but I like the styling:

1. Marc Marmel (barney's had recently started stocking). Like the style, but I'm not crazy about the leather. Also, this one is more luggage sized, so a little too big for everyday use. If it were about 16X15 (instead of 20X18), it would be about perfect. Price is around $1400-1500:

2. Zagliani woven leather and croc bag. I really like the shape and simplicity of it. The woven leather one is in the $1500 range, the croc is probably 10x's that.

Will those Trussardi 1911 bags ever hit sale? It is too far in the season for me to justify a full price purchase.

There are a lot of bags being posted in this thread that look more like purses then a real manbag. I have no problem with guys carrying bags around with them for daily use, I do it a lot myself with one of my messenger bags, but I think they should be kept with a masculine flair to them.

The staggering originality of this post and the frequency of those like it throughout this thread and on anything that has to do with bags around this forum just makes me remember why I haven't posted here in nearly two months. Sigh. The point of a thread like this was to show variety, to show a range of styles for a range of people who are different, live different lives, and have different needs from an accessory. The ubiquitous Filson ball-massaging is already bad enough; what's the point if we only post the same three things? Like on the WAYWT threads... the interesting thing is to see variety, range, even in things we'd never wear or use ourselves. What really defines a "masculine flair?" Does it have to be big and rugged and brown and look like something that would carry you across the Serengeti? Rawwwwr! Give me canvas and untreated leather and bulk, bulk, bulk!

Hey look, I got no problem with any bag that anyone carries around. Nor do I have a problem with people liking the purse like bags in this thread. To each their own, enjoy you own personal style. I just don't consider the purse like bags in this thread "manbags." In my opinion a real manbag is a more masculine bag that anyone straight or gay would feel perfectly comfortable taking with them out and about. EDIT: I realize the term "masculine" is open to interpretation, but if you are being honest you would have to agree that some of the bags being posted in this thread are not. Also, other then the duffle bags, which I love, and MAYBE that limited addition (forget the name) black 256 briefcase, I am not a huge Filson fan. A lot of their stuff is way too country/fishing for me.

I'm just opposed to the categorizing itself. I think we can take it on a case by case basis of whether a bag looks right for a certain "look." Overall whether it's "worthy" to be included in a manbag list is a pointless and uninteresting exercise that's been argued in a million other threads, because every time somebody comes on and starts harping about "purses" being "unsuitable" for ragged, rugged, manly RAWR virile men. What I like most about SF... or USED to like... was when somebody shows up and wears something that I'd NEVER consider wearing myself, or never even thought might work for a guy before... and yet they do it amazingly. There are any number of posters who do this, and rarely are they the ones who show up in Ralph Lauren Polo with a Filson briefcase. Quite frankly, I'm still waiting for somebody to show up who can make Boat Shoes look good. Haven't seen it yet. More choices are better than fewer, and allow for a few unexpected surprises. More categories about "manbag" vs. "purse" just blind one to things that could serve their uses better. It's the same as when a guy refuses to check out fragrances/perfumes technically marketed for women, thinking they aren't "masculine."

It would have been more so had it been titled "murse."

Chris and Tibor still haven't set up their online store. With how weak the dollar is now it may be for the best. love the blue backpack.
