It's nice, but for nearly $1000, there are a lot of other things I'd rather get first. It's a pretty standard buckled brief that's been beat to hell (on purpose!) Plus, the big RRL on the front is a turnoff. I'd rather get an actual vintage bridle leather or thick buckled brief (maybe from one of the many english or older American makers) for $100 or less and pocket the other $895.
...and use the money leftover for a Ghurka briefcase.
A duffel and briefacse for the price of that RRL.
Am I mistaken in thinking that I don't hear too much about Ghurka on SF? Has it already been played out, or did it never really register on Sf at all. I really like the Marley Ghurkas, especially the canvas/leather express.
Gucci's "Cruise" collection (which is a between-season collection, something to get people in the stores in between when the new season comes in and the sales) now includes a men's line, complete with bags. If I have time later, I'll post some pics, but they have some very nice, simple, retro-looking sort of totes, briefs, and duffles. I'm not usually much on post-TF Gucci, but I thought these looked quite nice. Take a look, if you are interested: http://www.gucci.com/us/us-english/u...ready-to-wear/
^What material is the bag? It looks like it wants to be some type of pigskin (Cinghiale!??!), but I'd guess at it's price point it's probably not.
I've never been big on studs (on clothes anyway, haha). They're quite popular now; everybody from Prada to Mihara Yasuhiro is doing them... but they just scream "80's punk" to me. Nevertheless, that they're just on the strap on that bat isn't so big.
you just missed out gilt had that bag up like two days ago for a lot less. i got a rrl bag myself. i thought i liked it for my sketching supplies, but now that it's actually here i'm hesitant about the size of it. i'll post it later tonight and see what you guys think.
Not mine, but a good deal on an Orciani bag w/ less than four hours left and free shipping. Definitely not an "everyday" bag, given the material, but one that looks like a lot of fun with the right outfit. Quality on Orciani is quite decent, most especially at this price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tab%3DWatching
