I wish man, only bags I've owned was a jas messenger which I'm putting up in the b&s and my olive Ys nylon duffle. Not a fan of the arte povera bags either, but love weekenders and duffels for short trips and what not. Almost copped grey margiela bag two years ago but 1300 was too rich for me. Thinking about copping the white canvas/tan leather ciggy bag but waiting for a good deal. Not many bags interest me because like you said not many are steezy enough.
Yeah, I've always liked a lot of Margiela's bags; simple styles and good quality. I also like a lot of the repro bags he makes (last season there was a reporter bag in black w/ red lining that was very neat). Agree about the Arte Povera bags; if I wanted a ratty old leather bag, I'd mug my mailman. I think there has to be a good balance between style and functionality, though sometimes a bag can be just for fun (if you have others that cover the "bases.") EDIT: I found a pic of the bag from MMM i really liked:

The ma bags and satchel looking ones are horrible and they go apenutty for them at 2k which always leaves me scratching my head.

There is actually a really cool jil tote with leather straps following in theme with the colorblocking this season, it's olive, white and black I think? The handle is adjustable with a buckle on one side it's really nice I just don't have use for a daily bag (and my wallet is thankful).

I did see a nice olive ndc weekender but never was able to find it, so difficult finding nicely designed weekenders and not many seem to make them.

Listen not to teh straightz, mon coeur... most were born without teh Fabulous Gene, which causes them to purchase nylon Computer Briefcases from "Targus" and put their cell phones in a clippy fauz-leather case that snaps onto the waistband of their double-pleated Docker pants. :shudder: !!!

I had a targus bag back in college I think.

I really love my Globe-Trotter / Bill Amberg briefcase (which converts to a shoulder bag if need be). I don't really know how to review the bag, mostly because I've never owned a 'nice' bag before and have nothing to compare it to (the knowledge of bags in this thread is pretty amazing). All I can say is that it has just the right amount of modern style for me, and it seems very well made (clean stitching, nice lining, good handles, attention to detail, etc.). From what I understand Globe-Trotter makes excellent bags, so this collaboration with Bill Amberg (a great bag designed makes in his own right) is, to me, a hit.

^ I've been wanting to get one of those duffles on yoox but I don't think I can work it into everything else I wear. Too many sharp angles maybe.

Gryson ($500-1500) Oh, GoSurface, I'm calling you... GoSurface! Review this brand, please (haha). Balenciaga ($1000-3000) Same as the above. Burberry (especially Prorsum): I've never been a Burberry fan, so I've never owned any of their bags. Anybody else care to review? Morgan Grays $800-2000 Very limited experience, but what I've seen at Neimans is really quite ugly and very expensive. Doesn't "look" like a bag I'd want to spend $1500 on. BUT, again, I haven't really had much experience beyond just a quick glance. Others who have more experience please chime in. Cole Haan ($200-600) Pros: Simple styles, relatively affordable comparatively, often obtainable at discount from places like Marshall's. Cons: Construction, quality of materials, and hardware are hardly merit-worthy. Most items made in China. Overall assessment: Slightly better than Coach, but hardly something for which I'd stop the presses. Mark Nason ($300-900) Pros: Are there any? Have you seen these things? They're like Harley-biker-gang meets D&G. Cons: Just look at them, then look at the retail price. You'll get the point. Overall assessment: unless you say on a daily basis, "Man! I really need a swingin' bag to go with my Ed Hardy outfits!" you should walk away from nason bags.

I'm surprised it's not been bought. When people drool over frumpy briefcases and luggage trunks priced at 3x's this much (but from SF approved brands like your granddad's Brioni!), which are 1/10 as functional... I don't see how this one didn't get more traffic. Nice seller, too, btw.

You know, it depends. Ferragamo is across the board with the "levels" of their bags. Some of their entry level nylon bags are really quite sub-par (and priced accordingly at $395 retail or so). BUT, their higher end leather goods ($2000+) are REALLY nice. So, if it were a $895 bag priced at $675... I'd pass. BUT, a $2600 bag at $675 and from their nicer top end or runway line would be well worth it.

Can you find a pic of it online or do you remember the model name?

I really like the Billingham camera bags which have removable inserts so you can turn the bags into "normal" bags. I don't think they're ultra steezy but there's something about them I really like. Its the bellowed pockets, I think. I'm considering getting the Packington:

unfortunately i have done a search in google and in ferragamo's own site but i cant find any pics (not even close-to pic)
basically, it is a huge leather bag (very softleather). around 25 inches in length and brown.
how can i tell if it is from their nicer top end or not?do ferragamo produces leather goods of different level?(like their shoes)
i actually quite like it caz it is surprisingly lightweight

It's hard to tell sometimes, because they don't have different "lines" per se (like, no "studio" or "tramezza," etc.) It's just mostly in handling them in person; the crappier stuff makes you go, "This is Ferragamo? It sure feels crappy." If this one had a nice feel to the leather, had decent hardware and lining, I'd say it's probably worth it, if you really liked the bag. Some of the lower-end stuff almost feels so cheap you'd think it was fake... if you weren't looking at it AT a ferragamo boutique (haha). So, I'd say go for it, though you might also check out Yoox and the Bill Amberg/Globetrotter duffles. They're very nice, too, and a LOT less expensive. Being in the UK, you could also check out Amberg's regular line, which probably wouldn't be much more than 450 quid on sale. I'd say his stuff would be miles ahead of any Ferragamo line.
